Roof Replacement
Roof Replacement in Lake Havasu City
A new roof installed by our own crew, built for Arizona sun, heat and wind, and backed by warranty options we stand behind.

When Repairs Stop Making Sense
A New Roof Built for the Desert
Every roof in Lake Havasu City eventually reaches the end of its life, and it gets there faster than in milder climates. Summer roof surfaces climb well past 150°F, year-round UV breaks down shingles and underlayment, and monsoon winds pry at anything that has started to lift. When patching no longer holds, SJ Roofing LLC replaces the whole system: we tear off the old roofing, inspect and repair the decking, install new underlayment and flashing, and lay a new roof designed for this climate.
We are a family-owned, licensed, bonded and insured roofing contractor (Arizona ROC #354420) with over 20 years of experience. The crew that shows up is our crew, not a subcontractor, so the people who quote your roof are the people who install it. We work on homes and commercial buildings across Lake Havasu City and the surrounding Mohave County communities.
What's Included in Every Replacement
- Complete tear-off and haul-away of the old roofing
- Inspection of the roof deck, with damaged or rotted wood replaced
- New underlayment rated for high-heat climates
- New flashing, drip edge and seals around vents, pipes and skylights
- Your choice of shingle, tile, metal or flat roofing system
- Attic and ridge ventilation checked so heat can escape
- Premium materials from trusted manufacturers, with warranty options explained up front
- A clean job site: we haul everything away when we're done
Roof Types We Install
Asphalt shingle roofs. Architectural shingles remain the most popular choice for Lake Havasu homes. They are cost-effective, come in a wide range of colors, and modern lines are engineered to handle high heat and wind. We can also discuss a shingle overlay where the existing roof qualifies.
Tile roofs. Concrete and clay tile are everywhere in Havasu for good reason: the tile itself lasts for decades. The underlayment beneath it does not. If your tile is in good shape but the roof is leaking, we can lift the tile, install new underlayment and re-set your existing tile instead of replacing everything.
Metal roofs. Standing seam and metal panel roofs reflect heat, shed monsoon rain quickly and hold up for a very long time in the desert. They are a strong option for homes, shops and outbuildings.
Flat and low-slope roofs. We install built-up roofing (BUR) and coated flat roof systems for the many Havasu homes and commercial buildings with flat sections. If your flat roof is sound but tired, a roof coating may be a better fit than replacement.

Common Questions
Roof Replacement FAQ
How do I know if I need a roof replacement or just a repair?
A single leak, a few cracked tiles or wind-lifted shingles are usually repairable. A replacement makes more sense when the roof is near the end of its expected life, when leaks keep coming back in different places, when the underlayment under a tile roof has failed, or when the decking is soft. We'll tell you honestly which one you need. Repairs are our business too, so we have no reason to push a replacement you don't need.
How much does a roof replacement cost in Lake Havasu City?
It depends on the size and pitch of the roof, the material you choose (shingle, tile, metal or flat), how many layers need to come off, the condition of the decking, and details like skylights and rooftop HVAC units. Rather than quote a range that may not fit your home, we come out, measure and give you a free written estimate with everything itemized.
How long does a roof last in Arizona?
Desert heat and UV shorten the life of every roofing material. As a rough guide, asphalt shingle roofs in Lake Havasu often last 15 to 25 years, the underlayment under a tile roof about 20 to 25 years even though the tile itself can last 50 or more, and metal roofs considerably longer. Regular inspections and prompt repairs stretch those numbers.
Can you replace a roof during the summer or monsoon season?
Yes. We work year-round in Lake Havasu. In summer we start early to beat the worst of the heat, and during monsoon season we watch the forecast closely and never leave a roof open overnight. If a storm is coming, your roof is dried in before we leave.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. SJ Roofing LLC is family-owned and the crew that installs your roof is ours. You deal with the same people from the estimate through the final walkthrough.
Is SJ Roofing licensed and insured?
Yes. We are licensed, bonded and insured in Arizona under ROC #354420. You can verify our license on the Arizona Registrar of Contractors website.
